ABOUT US

Welcome to our family-run business AlpaCafé, whose vision is to bring unique alpaca experience to Košice.

Our journey began in September 2023 when we welcomed two beautiful alpacas - Coco and Lima - into our family. These beautiful creatures bring us great joy every day and have become the very heart of our resort.

Nowadays, when people are looking for new ways to spend their quality time, we have decided to share our joy and offer you a unique opportunity to enjoy time in the fresh air with our beautiful alpacas. These friendly animals, native to South America, are not only charming but also intelligent and love to enjoy the company of others. Alpaca breeding has become widespread because of their exceptionally soft wool, the finest in the world. Pet them and feel it for yourself.

Friendship with our alpacas is close to our hearts and we want you to feel like part of our growing family. At the AlpaCafé you can choose from a variety of activities with our alpacas, whether it's walking them around the area, playing with them or relaxing together over a small snack. We hope that our venture will bring joy and relaxation into your life and that spending time with us will be an unforgettable experience for you.

LIMA

Hi, my name is Lima! I'm a strong and independent woman who never misses anything. I demand honor, respect and at least as much grace and manners from the creatures around me as I have myself. In the short time I've been here, I've become the queen of the entire Barca Resort. With just one look into my piercing eyes, I will instantly conquer you too! And besides the fact that I have to maintain the order here, I'm also preparing for motherhood. And trust me, with a guy like Coco, I'm getting pretty good practice.

COCO

What's up, I'm Coco! I may sometimes look like a clown next to Lima, but I deserve some lovin' and cuddles too. Especially on my fluffy neck and behind my ears - man I love that! I might not have royal manners and come across as rude, but I've heard that women like bad boys, so I don't care. After all, even Lima just pretends to be annoyed when in reality she's totally into me. And since I have a new haircut, no one can resist my charm!

DIEGO

LUNA

Our names are Diego and Luna - and since we have finally settled in, we wanted to introduce ourselves and tell you something about us. When the personal driver brought us to AlpaCafé, we didn't know what to expect. We saw uncle and aunt alpaca in the enclosure, who looked at us fearfully as if we were intruders. With our friend Coco, we had to clarify who will now be the master of the enclosure - young Diego or will the older Coco remain in charge? Fortunately, we became friends after a few sniffs and left this dilemma for later. Our favorite activities include rolling in the hay, walking, and anything related to movement and discovery. We are very cuddly and love to be petted and given love. Our favorite food?? – definitely fresh grass!

S ťažkým srdcom Vám musíme oznámiť, že z dôvodu preventívneho opatrenia spojeného s rozšírením slintačky a krívačky (SLAK) dočasne rušíme všetky plánované aktivity s alpakami až do odvolania. Toto chorenie nepredstavuje žiadne riziko pre človeka - naše alpaky sú zdravé a voči tomuto vírusu značne imúnne, no chceme urobiť všetko pre to, aby sme ich ochránili pred akýmkoľ vek rizikom.

Vieme, že pre mnohých z vás sú stretnutia s našimi alpakami tým hlavným dôvodom návštevy a úprimne nás mrzí, že vám túto možnosť nemôžeme teraz dopriať. No neznamená to, že sa vzdávame! Naopak, využijeme tento čas na to, aby sme pre vás pripravili všetky krásne novinky, ktoré sme mali v pláne na neskôr.

Rozširujeme areál – chystáme nový park, kde budú mať naše alpaky ešte viac priestoru na voľné pasenie a kde vás raz privítame na terapeutických prechádzkach.
Zvažujeme otvorenie kaviarne aj bez alpák – vieme, že Alpacafé bez alpák nie je úplne to isté, ale ak by ste nás chceli podporiť aj v tejto podobe, dajte nám vedieť. Každá spätná väzba a každá káva, ktorú si u nás dáte, nám pomôže preklenúť toto náročné obdobie.

Veríme, že čakanie bude stáť za to a že sa k nám čoskoro vrátite na ešte krajšie zážitky. Ďakujeme za vašu podporu, trpezlivosť a lásku k našim alpakám.

Dear friends,

With a heavy heart, we must inform you that, as a preventivemeasure against the spread of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD), we are temporarily canceling all planned activities with our alpacas untilfurther notice. This disease poses no risk to humans — our alpacasare healthy and naturally quite immune to this virus, but we want to do everything we can to protect them from any potential threat.

We know that for many of you, meeting our alpacas is the main reason for your visit, and we sincerely regret that we cannot offer you this experience at the moment. However, this does not mean weare giving up! On the contrary, we will use this time to prepare all the exciting new things we had planned for later.

We are expanding our grounds — creating a new park where our alpacas will have even more space to graze freely and where, oneday, we will welcome you for therapeutic walks.
We are considering opening the café even without alpacas — weunderstand that Alpacafé without alpacas is not quite the same, but if you would like to support us in this way, please let us know. Every bit of feedback and every cup of coffee you enjoywith us will help us get through this challenging period.

We truly believe that the wait will be worth it and that you will soonreturn for even more wonderful experiences. Thank you for your support, patience, and love for our alpacas.
